Freshman Survival Guide (FSG)

From first-hand experience, we observe that TJC youths in America either thrive or dive in their spirituality during their college years. To aim for more to thrive, the National Youth Ministry is planning to publish the first edition of a "Freshman Survival Guide" to give to high school seniors and college freshmen this fall. This handbook is comprised of the advice, experiences, and testimonies of TJC youths from around the nation on a variety of college-related topics.

After some brainstorming the FSG team decided a surviving-on-an-island theme to present these writings.

To pique your interest, the Table of Contents is as follows:

Introduction
Chapter 1: Washing Ashore (pre-admission topics)
Chapter 2: Building a Hut (room and board)
Chapter 3: Talking with the Natives (social life topics)
Chapter 4: Mapping the Island (academics)
Chapter 5: Kindling the Fire (topics concerning spiritual life)
Chapter 6: Sharpening Your Tools (self-improvement/character building)
Chapter 7: Gone Fishing (summer and winter breaks)

Thank and praise God, we have received multiple contributions from over 20 youths on the above topics. They have all been edited for clarity and readability. Currently, the illustrations are being worked on, and the layout will need to be completed. We are planning on a 2011 release.
